PHILIPPINES – Tropical Storm Josie, with the international name Haishen, entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 2 a.m. on July 14, 2026, just a few days after Typhoon Inday left the PAR.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), as of 5 a.m., Josie was estimated to be 1,085 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas. However, no Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) has been raised.
Although Josie is unlikely to affect the country, Inday’s effects are still being felt. According to reports, the death toll from the typhoon has risen to 20, with 16 people still missing.
Additionally, the estimated cost of infrastructure damage has reached PHP 3.18 billion. Affected communities have received PHP 43.38 million in aid from the government.
