PHILIPPINES – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. meets former United Kingdom Prime Minister Tony Blair to Malacañang on July 8, 2026, commemorating Blair’s return to the country since September 2022.
In his social media page, Marcos stated it was a pleasure to receive Blair, portraying him as one of UK’s longest-serving prime ministers. He also acknowledged Blair’s role in shaping global discussions on governance and public policy.
Blair served as the United Kingdom’s from 1997 to 2007. He is now an executive chairman of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, a nonprofit organization that teams up with political leaders and institutions to publicize inclusive development and effective governance.
Marcos emphasized the institute’s mission of building open, inclusive, and prosperous communities in a progressively interconnected world. The meet reflects the country’s’ continued involvement with international organizations and leaders focused on leadership, governance, and public policy.
