VANCOUVER, British Columbia — The Alliance Philippines openly invites Filipino-Canadian families to register their children in a six-week Filipino language school in Vancouver starting on April 18.
These Saturday-based classes aim to help Filipino-Canadian kids, teens, and young adults build their language skills, cultural pride, and community in a fun and supportive environment.
The learning sessions will take place at Artopia Art Studio, Unit 215, 550 Cambie Street in Downtown Vancouver, wherein the program will be opened to 4 levels, namely, Kinder (Grade 1), Primary (Grades 2 to 4), Intermediate (Grades 5 to 7), and High School (Grades 8 to 12).
The classes are scheduled on April 18, April 25, May 2, May 9, May 23, and May 30, with May 16 skipped due to Victoria Day’s long weekend.
According to the program’s registration website, among the skills the six-week classes will foster are the students’ confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Filipino, by learning through stories, songs, and traditions that bring the Filipino language to life.
Alliance Philippines reminded interested participants that slots for the program are limited, with each class accommodating 12 students. Early registrations are highly encouraged to secure each slot.
