2,202 passengers stranded in ports — Coast Guard

MANILA — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Sunday said that as of 2 p.m., a total of 2,202 passengers have remained stranded in ports due to typhoon “Ruby.”

On its official Facebook account, PCG said that the stranded passengers are in 92 vessels, four motor bancas and 791 rolling cargoes.

PCG said its units are ensuring the strict implementation of guidelines on the movement of vessels during bad weather.

A breakdown of those stranded include:

National Capital Region-Central Luzon– 340 passengers and 2 vessels

Palawan- 30 passengers, 14 vessels and 2 motor bancas

Northern Mindanao- 224 passengers, 11 vessels and 8 rolling cargoes

Bicol- 351 passengers, 32 vessels, 2 motor bancas and 57 rolling cargoes

Eastern Visayas- 392 passengers, 1 vessel and 76 rolling cargoes

Southern Tagalog- 346 passengers and 437 rolling cargoes

Western Visayas- 519 passengers, 32 vessels and 213 rolling cargoes
