QUEZON CITY — The Quezon City (QC) government witnessed more than 400 couples exchange their vows in the city’s two-day mass wedding held on Thursday, Feb. 12, and Friday, Feb. 13.
According to QC Mayor Joy Belmonte, the event’s first day recorded over 240 pairs from the city’s second district, while the second day recorded over 220 pairs from the first and fourth districts.
Belmonte shared that the local government’s mass wedding initiative aims to address the challenge of some couples in the city who can’t get married due to financial struggles.

“Hangad natin na mabigyan ng isang unforgettable moment ang bawat magsing-irog dahil ‘yan ang deserve ng bawat couple,” Belmonte said in a post.
(We hope to give an unforgettable moment to each pair because that’s what every couple deserves.)
Similarly, the QC mayor, as a principal sponsor, wished all the newlyweds nothing but a lifelong, honest, and happy relationship together.
