MANILA — Heavy and continuous rains brought by the southwest monsoon, or habagat, flooded numerous roads across Metro Manila on Saturday, August 29.

Below are the affected roads and their passability status based on the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority’s report as of 5:39 p.m.

Valenzuela City

Open to all vehicles

• MacArthur Highway near Goodyear and Toyota — below-gutter-level flooding
• MacArthur Highway from T. Santiago Street to G. Lazaro Street — below-gutter level
• MacArthur Highway near Fatima Hospital — below-gutter level
• MacArthur Highway–Calle Uno eastbound — gutter-deep water

Closed to light vehicles

• MacArthur Highway near Pio Valenzuela Street in BBB — knee-deep flooding
• MacArthur Highway at A. Fernando Road, northbound and southbound — about 19 inches of water

Mandaluyong City

Open to all vehicles

• Boni Avenue at F. Ortigas Street — gutter- to half-knee-deep flooding

Parañaque City

Open to all vehicles

• Dr. A. Santos Avenue near Olivarez School — gutter- to half-knee-deep water

Las Piñas City

Closed to light vehicles

• Zapote Junction in Barangay Zapote — knee-deep flooding
• Alabang-Zapote Junction in Pulang Lupa — around 19 inches of water

• Roxas Boulevard–P. Ocampo service road, northbound — about eight inches
• Roxas Boulevard near Pedro Gil, northbound — about eight inches

• Taft Avenue near General Malvar Street — about eight inches
• España Boulevard at Antipolo Street — about six inches
• España Boulevard at M. Dela Fuente Street — about eight inches

• Tramo near Andrews Avenue, southbound — eight to nine inches of water

Motorists should avoid entering flooded roads when the water’s depth is uncertain and monitor updated advisories, as conditions may change with continued rainfall.
