MANILA, Philippines – Filipino students seeking financial assistance for college may find an opportunity through GrabScholar, a scholarship program that covers full tuition and miscellaneous fees while providing an ₱8,000 monthly allowance to qualified recipients.

The program, supported by Grab Philippines through its GrabForGood Fund, also provides an additional ₱11,000 annually for school supplies, including textbooks, uniforms, and other academic necessities.

Unlike scholarships limited to employees’ families, GrabScholar is open to qualified Filipino students nationwide, even if they have no family connection to Grab or Move It drivers, delivery riders, or merchant partners.

Selected scholars receive financial assistance throughout their degree programs, subject to the program’s retention requirements.

Beyond covering educational expenses, GrabScholar also offers learning and development activities, mentorship, and internship opportunities to help students prepare for employment after graduation.

Who qualifies for GrabScholar?

For its 2026 college scholarship intake, Grab offered six merit-based scholarships to incoming first-year college students pursuing Business, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), and Sustainability-related degree programs.

Medical courses were excluded from the eligible STEM programs.

Under the published 2026 guidelines, applicants needed to meet the following qualifications:

  • Be a Filipino citizen entering the first year of college.
  • Have a Grade 12 general average of at least 90%.
  • Have no active scholarship or other educational assistance.
  • Have no disciplinary sanctions during senior high school.
  • Plan to enroll in an eligible degree program at a college or university in the Philippines.

Students were also required to submit supporting documents, including their birth certificate, Grade 12 report card, proof of college acceptance or enrollment, and certificate of good moral standing.

Applicants aged 17 or younger needed a parent or legal guardian to submit the application on their behalf.

GrabScholar celebrates its first college graduates

Launched in 2023, GrabScholar has expanded its support for Filipino learners through college scholarships, school-expense assistance, and skills training.

In September 2026, Grab Philippines announced that five pioneering scholars had completed their college degrees, becoming the program’s first graduates in Southeast Asia.

The graduates pursued studies in education, business, and finance, with several already entering the workforce or preparing for professional licensure examinations.

As of September 2026, GrabScholar had awarded 30 full college scholarships and reached around 2,000 Filipinos through its education and career development initiatives.

The program is implemented in partnership with organizations including the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) and BagoSphere.

When will applications open again?

The latest GrabScholar college scholarship application period ran from June 22 to July 17, 2026, with results scheduled for release on August 20.

That application period has already closed.

As of October 26, Grab Philippines has not announced a new application schedule or updated eligibility requirements for students entering college in academic year 2027–2028.

Students interested in the next intake can begin preparing their academic records and other documents while monitoring official announcements.

The scholarship amounts and eligibility criteria outlined above are based on the 2026 program and may change in future application cycles.

For official updates and application information, students may visit the GrabScholar College Scholarship website.
