The death toll from the combined effects of tropical cyclones Luis, Maymay and Neneng and the southwest monsoon, or habagat, has risen to 33, according to the Office of Civil Defense.
The OCD said 19 people were injured, while three others remain missing and are still being searched for as authorities continue rescue and retrieval operations in affected areas.
Around 8.8 million people, equivalent to about 2.5 million families, have been affected by the successive weather disturbances across several parts of the country.
Affected regions include the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Calabarzon, Cordillera Administrative Region, Mimaropa and Metro Manila.
OCD data also showed that around 164,500 people from 46,900 families were staying in 1,365 evacuation centers as of the latest reporting period.
Damage to infrastructure has climbed to an estimated ₱6.12 billion, while losses in the agriculture sector have reached approximately ₱2.32 billion.
Around 3,300 houses were also reported damaged, including more than 400 that were completely destroyed.
At least 117 local government units have declared a state of calamity because of the widespread flooding, landslides and other damage caused by the series of tropical cyclones and the enhanced southwest monsoon.
Among the hardest-hit areas was Benguet, where 15 fatalities were recorded, mostly in landslide-related incidents. Other deaths were reported in Rizal, Batangas, Caloocan, Quezon, Occidental Mindoro, La Union, Oriental Mindoro and Negros Occidental.
Authorities continue to gather and validate reports from affected communities as rescue, relief and recovery operations remain underway.
