Gov’t to hold ‘time, motion’ simulations on vaccine deployment
MANILA – The government will be conducting a series of “time and motion” simulations on the deployment of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines next week, in preparation for the arrival of the jabs in the country, National Policy Against Covid-19 chief implementer and vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said on Friday.
“This coming next week, magkakaroon kami ng time and motion doon sa airport (we will be having simulation on time and motion in the airport) and then how we will deliver the vaccines,” he said in a press conference.
Galvez said the vaccine deployment simulation includes laying down of the coordination system “from arrival of the vaccines to the airport’s point of entry, going to the warehouse and to the point of distribution”.
The simulation of the actual time of vaccine deployment would prevent vaccine wastage, he added.
“Para makita natin talaga ‘yung actual time na wala pong masasayang at prepared po yung magsi-set ng bakuna (So that we could determine the actual time and that nothing will put to waste–it also ensures the preparedness of those who will set the vaccines),” said Galvez.
The vaccine czar cited the importance of monitoring the preparedness of the local government units (LGUs) to receive the coronavirus vaccines.
“Para walang masayang na bakuna. At least makikita natin na yung pupuntahan ng bakuna prepared na prepared na yung mga LGUs at saka yung magre-recieve ng bakuna natin (To avoid wastage of vaccines. At least we can be assured that the LGUs who will be securing the vaccines are well-prepared and ready to receive it),” said Galvez.
Based on the assessment of the Coordinated Operations to Defeat Epidemic Team, Galvez noted that the LGUs in Metro Manila are ready and prepared enough to receive the Covid-19 vaccines.
“Ang preparations ng ating mga LGUs ay very commendable at nakikita natin na tuluy-tuloy yung kanilang simulations, kahapon nga kausap ko yung league of city mayors at talagang prepared na prepared na sila at talagang bakuna na lang kulang (The preparations of our LGUs are very commendable and we can see that they have continuous simulations and yesterday I saw how prepared the LGUs are when I met with the league of city mayors, we are just waiting for the vaccines),” he said.
Meanwhile, Galvez alongside Health Secretary Francisco Duque III and other officials of the government’s Covid-19 response team have inspected the Royal Cargo’s cold storage facility and its refrigerated container van in Parañaque City.
