3 new Covid-19 cases logged among overseas Filipinos: DFA

MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday logged three more coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases among Filipinos abroad, bringing the overall tally to 8,872.
The agency also reported one new recovery and zero fatality, bringing the total number to 5,277 and 618, respectively.
“As countries continue to battle against and slowly recover from the impacts of the pandemic, the DFA remains resolute in assisting our nationals, whenever and wherever possible,” it said in a statement.
Based on its latest data, the Middle East/Africa region has the highest number of confirmed cases with 6,431, of whom 2,241 are currently undergoing treatment, while 349 died.
This is followed by Europe with 1,054 total cases, the Americas with 699, and Asia and the Pacific region with 688.
On recoveries, the numbers are also concentrated in the Middle East/Africa at 3,841, followed by Asia and the Pacific with 557, Europe with 469, and the Americas with 410.
