GENERAL SANTOS CITY — The Social Security System’s (SSS) crackdown on delinquent employers continues with the 5th leg of its regional Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) Campaign, this time, in Barangays Dadiangas East and Dadiangas North here Monday.

SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel F. Dooc said show cause orders were posted on nine establishments due to non-registration of businesses to SSS, non-remittance of contributions, and non-reporting of employees.

“More than a hundred employees were affected due to their blatant violation of the Social Security Law. That’s why the RACE Campaign was conducted in GenSan to reprimand these delinquent employers and teach them to be responsible business owners,” Dooc said in a statement.

Stern warnings were given to Urban Essence Salon and Spa, CJ’s Foods, and RJK Motorparts for non-remittance of SSS contributions; and to Bozz Zai Kitchen and Tambilawan Kamayan Restaurant for non-reporting of employees. Their violations resulted in delinquencies amounting to PHP443,448.30.

The SSS also found foru establishements to be delinquent – Limor Power Cycle for non-reporting of employees, and Urban Spring Purified Water, Robtuck Barbershop, and Chichi’s Hito and Kambingan due to non-registration of businesses to SSS.

With the recently-concluded RACE Campaign in southern Mindanao region, the SSS chief said he expects long-term results such as employer’s full compliance with the SS Law, and increased coverage and collection among employed members.

“I hope that this activity will serve as a wake-up call that SSS will never tolerate illegal practices, which deprive workers from enjoying their social security benefits. For those employers who wish to register their businesses, report their employees and pay their monthly premiums, please visit the nearest SSS branch,” Dooc said.
