MANILA — After inspecting organic personnel’s offices at the Department of Justice (DOJ) compound, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra is set to meet with the officials of its 10 attached agencies.

Justice Undersecretary Erickson Balmes said the new DOJ chief will call on the officials of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), Bureau of Immigration, National Bureau of Investigation, Parole and Probation Administration, Presidential Commission on Good Government, Public Attorney’s Office, Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution, Office of the Government Corporate Counsel, Office of the Solicitor General, and the Land Registration Authority.

In the case of the BuCor, outgoing Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Ronald dela Rosa has yet to assume the bureau’s top post.

Dela Rosa, however, expressed plans to take a short break after retiring from his post as PNP chief.

Balmes said “Secretary Guevarra might meet with General Dela Rosa next week but that is if he has already assumed the BuCor post, otherwise the Secretary might still be meeting with the officer-in-charge of the BuCor (Valfrie Tabian).”

The DOJ has yet to confirm whether Guevarra would visit the New Bilibid Prison.

Last week, Guevarra met with officials whose offices are within the DOJ compound such as the National Prosecution Service, Office of Cybercrime, Witness Protection Program, and other administrative offices.
