Open doors: A second chance for Carlo and Angelica?

Just as hearts fly this Valentine’s season, long-time fans cannot seem to get enough of the ‘romantic tension’ between former lovers and onscreen partners Carlo Aquino and Angelica Panganiban.

Speculations of a second chance for their romance started blooming when both sides in separate interviews confirmed their doors are open to possibly dating each other again.

On Tuesday, Angelica tweeted to her close friend and also Carlo’s current leading lady in the movie, “Meet Me in St. Gallen.”

“Bukas na lang ako magpapahinga. Mahal kita eh (I will just rest tomorrow. Because I love you),” she said, possibly because of her attendance to the said movie’s premiere night.

Fans were playful and creative though in linking Carlo into the said tweet, asking the actress if it was fine to just love her ex-lover again.

What fans did not expect was for Angelica to respond with, “Pag-iisipan ko (I will think about it),” while laughing, as she quoted a tweet tagging Carlo. This got more Twitter users to join the tweet exchange and fill her response with hearts.

Carlo, cornered by ABS-CBN News in an interview, said that he and Angelica are really just friends right now.

“Hanggang ngayon friends pa rin kami. Never naman kasi nagbago [‘yung relationship namin]. Special siya sa akin. Feeling ko ganun din ako sa kanya. Very close kami (Until now, we are friends. Our relationship never changed. She is special to me. I feel like I am like that to her too. We are very close),” he said.

However, he was also asked if he had plans on spending February 14 with Angelica.

“Hindi ko alam… Hindi ko pa nga niyayaya eh. Hindi ko alam (I do not know… I have not asked her yet. I do not know),” Carlo said.

For their reunion on-screen though, it seems that the answer is clearer than what fans imagined, as Carlo confirmed that there are talks and offers on a movie of the two.

“May mga script na pinapadala. Kapag tuloy na tuloy na, kami muna, tapos kayo na ‘yung [sunod na] makakaalam (There are scripts being sent. So when it will really push through, we will be the first to know then you will be the next),” Carlo said.

His movie with Bela has paved way for Carlo to return as a leading man in the big screen and to possibly receive the said offers.

“Kapag siguro na-confirm na, [tsaka ako makakapagsalita]. May mga script pa lang na napapadala (Maybe if it is confirmed, that is when I can speak. Scripts were just sent),” he explained.

Carlo and Angelica dated for six years in their teenage years.
