MANILA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) reminded the public that off-site/satellite registration are only for residents of a particular barangay where the election-related activities are ongoing.

The poll body noted that applicants should only visit satellite registrations conducted by the Offices of Election Officers (OEOs) in their area.

“It should be by your local Comelec office, where you are a resident,” said the Comelec on its Twitter account in response to a query.

Earlier, the poll body released the schedule of offsite/satellite registration to be held in different areas in Metro Manila this month. For the schedules, the public may visit the poll body’s Facebook page.

On November 6, the Comelec had resumed voter registration nationwide, except in Lanao del Sur, in connection with the May 14, 2018 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE). It will be until November 30.

Qualified to register as regular voters are Filipino citizens, at least 18 years of age on or before May 14, 2018 BSKE; a resident of the Philippines for at least one year; and a resident in the place wherein he/she proposes to vote, for at least six months immediately preceding the elections.

For SK voters, those who are qualified to register are Filipino citizens, at least 15 years of age on or before May 14, 2018 elections but not more than 30 years old; and residing in the barangay for at least six months on or before next year’s polls.
