Over 9T cops deployed for ASEAN Defense Ministers’ meeting in Clark

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — A total of 9,377 police personnel and contingent from 21 different agencies are now being deployed for the 11th ASEAN Defense Ministers Meeting and 4th ADMM Plus slated October 22-25 in Clarkfield, this province.

Chief Supt. Amador V. Corpus, director of the Police Regional Office  (PRO3), said the accounting of personnel prior to their deployment was held on Friday morning at the Challenger’s Field, Air Force City, Clarkfield.

Corpus said that after the accounting of personnel, augmentation troops proceeded to their respective areas of deployment.

He added that police personnel assigned to do desk work are likewise sent out to the different venues to ensure safety and security during the said meetings.

Corpus said PRO3 personnel also underwent related trainings such as close protection orientation, hostage negotiation course, radio operation and procedures course, pistol proficiency training and civil disturbance management (CDM) to ensure their readiness during the event.

Meanwhile, he encouraged the public to help secure the delegates by providing relevant and timely information to the police.
