LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — Only eight towns and two cities of Pangasinan are yet to be cleared of illegal drugs, from the 47 that used to be drug-affected.

Chief Inspector Norman Florentino, in a text message Friday, identified these towns as Binmaley, Mangatarem, Mangaldan, San Fabian, Asingan, Balungao, Rosales and Villasis.

The cities yet to be cleared are San Carlos and Dagupan.

Florentino reported during the KBP Forum in Dagupan City on Thursday that there are 29 barangays in Pangasinan waiting to be cleared. It is from these remaining 29 barangays where illegal drugs actually come from.

The biggest number of uncleared barangays are in San Carlos City at eight, five in Rosales and four in Mangatarem.

The rest of the uncleared barangays are in Binmaley, 2;Dagupan City, 2; Mangaldan, 2; San Fabian, 2, Balungao, 2;  and one each in Asingan and Villasis.

This means that to date, there are 37 towns and cities in Pangasinan already cleared of illegal drugs. The town of Santo Tomas is drug-unaffected.
