MANILA – Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains, and possible occasionally heavy rains, gusty winds and lightning due to thunderstorms, will be experienced over Cagayan Valley and Cordillera regions as well as Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union and Aurora provinces, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 24-hour forecast released Tuesday afternoon.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies – except for isolated light to occasionally heavy rains, gusty winds and lightning – will prevail over Metro Manila and rest of the country, PAGASA added.

PAGASA located a low-pressure area at 690 km east of Cagayan’s Tuguegarao City as of 3 p.m. Tuesday.

“Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over extreme Northern Luzon,” PAGASA said.

Coastal waters will be moderate to rough, noted PAGASA.

“Light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast to northwest will prevail over the Visayas and rest of Luzon and coming from the southwest over Mindanao with slight to moderate seas,” PAGASA added.

According to PAGASA, tropical storm with international name ‘Sanvu’ was located some 2,705 km east of extreme Northern Luzon as of 3 p.m. Tuesday – still outside Philippine Area of Responsibility.

‘Sanvu’ packs maximum sustained winds of 75 kph near its center and gustiness of up to 89 kph, noted PAGASA.

Forecast movement of ‘Sanvu’ is northwards at 20 kph, PAGASA said. (PNA)
