MANILA—President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Senator Alan Peter Cayetano as Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
The DFA congratulated Cayetano on his appointment.
“We look forward to working with him, and the Department is now preparing to ensure a smooth institutional transition and to continue providing our services to the public,” it said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Acting DFA Secretary Enrique Manalo will reassume as Foreign Undersecretary for Policy.
