9 dead in north China house blast
TAIYUAN–Nine bodies have been found following an explosion at a house in northern China’s Shanxi Province Saturday night, local authorities said Sunday.
The illegal storage of explosives was believed to cause the blast.
The blast occurred around 10:30 p.m. Saturday on Nanhuan West Road in Fushan County in the city of Linfen, burying 10 people, according to an official with the city’s publicity department
As of 11 a.m. Sunday, nine bodies had been found and one person was rescued.
A further six people near the blast were slightly injured.
An investigation is underway.
