Three Filipino films to compete in Portugal

Avid Liongoren’s “Saving Sally”, Roderick Cabrido’s “Tuos” and Eduardo Roy Jr’s “Pamilya Ordinaryo” will  be competing for the 37th Oporto International Film Fest, also known as “Fantasporo” in Oporto, Portugal on February 24-March 4.

All three films will be competing for top honors in the major category and in the Orient Express category, while Eduardo Roy Jr. is included in the Director’s Week Category.

Saving Sally is a romantic live-action animated film that revolves around a man’s unrequited love to a girl who once saved his life.

Tuos is a film that stars Nora Aunor as the center of a story that struggles to continue a mysterious century old tradition and legacy that is facing possible extinction.

Pamilya Ordinaryo is a glimpse of an impoverished young family wandering the streets of the capital.

Industry trade paper Variety ranked Fantasporo as one of the 25 leading festivals of the world.
