Social Welfare Secretary Judy Taguiwalo was on hand to greet everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day.

“Because it’s Valentine’s Day, the DSWD under President Duterte affirms its promise to provide prompt and compassionate service, without corruption,” she said.

In her closing message, DSWD Protective Services Bureau (PSB) director, Ma. Alicia Bonoan, said the department will do its best to improve the Assistance to Individuals/Families in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.

The AICS, one of the major programs of the DSWD-CIU, provides immediate education, burial, transportation and medical assistance to those in crisis situations.

In 2016, the DSWD disbursed a total of PHP2.18 billion in assistance to 706,061 clients in need of financial aid nationwide.

Meanwhile, a similar show was conducted by employees of the DSWD-National Capital Region as a treat for their clients on Valentine’s Day.
