DSWD serenades ‘clients’ on Valentine’s Day
MANILA –Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) employees on Valentine’s Day serenaded “clients” of the Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU) as they waited in line to receive financial assistance from the department.
The employees staged the mini-show, dubbed as “Harana sa Crisis Intervention Unit”, as part of the department’s 66th anniversary celebration. Members of the Opism8 Band and the DSWD Chorale performed songs from different genres, among them “Fame” and “Don’t Dream It’s Over”, and the OPM songs “Torete” and “Salamat”.
The clients were also given free snacks and water as they watched the show.
Social Welfare Secretary Judy Taguiwalo was on hand to greet everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day.
“Because it’s Valentine’s Day, the DSWD under President Duterte affirms its promise to provide prompt and compassionate service, without corruption,” she said.
