Annual Gettysburg reenactment postponed because of rain

Officials have postponed the annual Gettysburg battle reenactment because of rain and flooding.

Reenactors usually gather on farm fields between July 3 and July 5 to recreate the historic battle that was a turning point in the Civil War.

However, organizers and emergency responders say significant rainfall on Thursday and Saturday saturated fields and created unsafe conditions for pedestrians and vehicles.

The battle reenactment will take place between Aug. 7 and Aug. 9. Any advance tickets will be honored on those dates.
