MANILA — Assorted war materiel and food items were recovered by troops pursuing Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) bandits in Talipao town, Sulu Monday.

Col. Allan Arrojado, Joint Task Group Sulu commander, said the items were discovered 12: 15 p.m. by troopers from the 14th Scout Ranger Company.

Recovered were two rounds of rocket propelled grenades, a radio antenna, cable wire, and one sack of assorted noodles.

Arrojado said these soldiers were conducting recon operations when they spotted the abandoned hut.

He added that military units were still scouring the area for signs of the bandits.

Last Friday, five soldiers and 10 ASG bandits were killed following a five-hour firefight.

Twenty eight soldiers were also wounded along with 30 of the bandits.
