MANILA – In the absence of her brother, President Benigno Aquino, Queen of All Media Kris Aquino was tasked with the responsibility of welcoming President Enrique Peña Nieto of Mexico at the Villamor Airbase in Pasay City Thursday.

President Nieto and his wife, Angelica Rivera, were en route to Australia from an official visit to China. The plane made a two-hour pit stop for refueling at the Philippine airbase.
Kris took to Instagram to share the experience; posting photos of her meeting with President Nieto.

“We just said good night to His Excellency President Enrique Peña Nieto of Mexico. PNoy is flying home from Myanmar & I was tasked to welcome him & his wife, Madame First Lady Angelica Rivera, who unfortunately wasn’t feeling well & stayed onboard their plane during the almost 2 hours refueling on their way to Australia from China. What a distinct honor for me to represent our country & have fun & informative conversation w/ the charismatic Mexican leader & his party. Good Night IG FRIENDS (love, love, love),” Kris said.

“The receiving line, outside Kalayaan Lounge of Villamor Airbase. Just in case hindi na maulit so I’m posting a solo picture. (Honestly, feeling super nostalgic, because I experienced this so many times before w/ my Mom & for my Mom during her presidency. When the ASEAN Summit was held here, I welcomed so many Heads of State in the airport on her behalf. What a privilege to experience it again on behalf of PNoy this time,” Kris added, in another post.
