Kris Aquino has returned to the screen for the first time in years, taking on a new role as Netflix Philippines’ “C.H.I.K.A.”, short for Chief Head of Insights and Kontent Analysis in a promotional campaign released by the streaming platform this month.

The appearance marks Aquino’s first major on-camera project since she stepped back from regular entertainment work to focus on treatment for multiple autoimmune conditions.
Long known as the “Queen of All Media” for her decades-long career spanning hosting, acting and endorsements, Aquino had remained largely absent from television and film in recent years, though she continued to stay active on social media.

Netflix Philippines built anticipation for the announcement through a teaser campaign suggesting it was hiring for a position called “C.H.I.K.A.,” listing qualifications that closely matched Aquino’s public profile, including decades of experience in entertainment and a reputation for turning interviews into viral, quotable moments.

In the campaign video, Aquino plays a fictional office role in which she reviews and critiques scenes from several Filipino titles streaming on Netflix, including “A Secret in Prague,” “Blood vs Duty” and “The Master Cutter.”
Working alongside a fictional editor named Earljohn, she offers feedback on elements such as visual effects, styling and action sequences, delivered in the candid, expressive style that has long defined her public persona.
The campaign is being rolled out in multiple parts, with additional episodes expected in the weeks following the initial release.
