MANILA — Actress Judy Ann Santos expressed her sympathy with Sharon Cuneta’s recent public admission of going through a “mid-life crisis.”

According to Santos, she visited Cuneta together with her husband Ryan Agoncillo on the day Cuneta posted her open letter to her fans on Facebook.

“She’s (Sharon) doing okay, she’s coping, she’s trying to work things out. She said in her post that she somewhat underwent a state of depression and state of loneliness,” said Santos during the press launch of her new reality TV show in ABS-CBN titled “I Do.”

Santos added, “Ang sinabi ko lang naman kay Ate ay hindi naman siya kahit kailan nawala, hindi naman siya kahit kailan makakalimutan ng tao. She will not be forgotten by the people at all! She has given so much to the industry. Also, I told her, let’s face the challenges, don’t shut yourself out of the world. Let’s prepare for that. Tama na ’yon, okay na ’yonUmiyak ka na, okay na ’yan. Time to act and enjoy life.”

Santos became close to Cuneta after working with the Megastar on the movie “Magkapatid” in 2002. Cuneta recently posted a long and emotional letter on her official Facebook account to her fans admitting that she is going through a crisis.

Santos asked the people and fans to not pass judgment on Cuneta’s problems. “Let’s be kind naman. We do not have any right to judge any person because we’re not perfect. No actor is perfect. Pero kung perfect sila at kaya nilang mambatikos ng tao, eh, magpakita muna sila bago sila mambatikos ng tao, because words can hurt.”

She further emphasized that Cuneta is doing well, and that she only needs people to understand her situation and pray for her to help her overcome the challenges that she’s currently facing.

“I’m happy for her because it came to a point that she has realized and accepted many things. She’s on the road to showing everyone that she’s okay,” Santos said.
