MANILA — Vice President Jejomar Binay expressed gratitude for the support of the presidential sisters Ballsy Cruz, Pinky Abellada, and Kris Aquino, in his goal to run for president in the coming 2016 elections.

Binay said in a Philippine Daily Inquirer report that he was “humbled” by the support expressed by the sisters.

“I share their view that the welfare of our kababayan (countrymen) should always come first and should not be compromised by partisan politics,” Binay said in the same report.

He added that he was thankful of the way the sisters see him as a candidate who will continue the programs of their brother, PNoy.

“My sisters and I have been talking about it [LP adopting Binay], and we say that if this can bring about unity as … we’re not enemies… and if he continues what Noy has started, why not?” Kris Aquino said in Filipino during the airing of her show, “Aquino and Abunda Tonight.”

The TV-host actress was talking about the rumors that the Liberal Party, the administration’s party is planning to adopt Binay in the coming presidential elections.

Binay also noted that the family and friendship ties he had with the Aquinos was a “bond that transcended politics.”
