Horwath not concerned Wynne hitting Toronto NDP ridings on last campaign day

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — NDP Leader Andrea Horwath says she’s not concerned that Liberal Premier Kathleen Wynne is spending the day going after NDP seats in Toronto.

Wynne is making six campaign stops in Toronto today, five of them in New Democrat-held ridings, as all the leaders make their final push on the final day of election campaigning.

Speaking at her own campaign event in Mississauga, Horwath said she doesn’t know what happened to all the Liberals who wanted to stop Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak.

Horwath describes the NDP-held ridings in Toronto as strong, and says those MPPs have been working hard over the past few years on issues of importance to downtown residents.

The NDP leader has a hectic last day on the campaign trail, making eight stops around the Greater Toronto Area and eastern Ontario, all in ridings the NDP doesn’t currently hold.

Horwath’s last stop of the day is in Kingston with federal NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair, who has so far only appeared alongside Horwath at a private campaign event.
