Hudak says Wynne and Liberals are attacking him to try to cling to power

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak says Premier Kathleen Wynne has changed and is willing to do things to hang on to power that she previously wouldn’t have considered.

Hudak says Wynne started out Tuesday by claiming he was a dangerous threat to students, and the Liberals ended the day with a flyer depicting him laughing as a hospital explodes in the background.

He calls the flyer over the top, and says when Wynne is willing to go that far over the line it’s time for her to “pack it in” because she’s only worried about her own job.

Hudak says Wynne is going into schools and hospitals as part of her “campaign of fear,” while he’s offering voters a positive message of hope for new jobs and a better economy.

The PC leader rejects Liberal accusations that the Tories tried to suppress the vote in at least two ridings with letters directing people to the wrong polling stations.

At a window factory in Mississauga, Hudak called the letters an honest mistake as the Tories tried to get their own supporters out to vote, and said the local candidates involved have “apologized for that clerical error.”

Hudak also has campaign stops Wednesday at the cancelled gas plant in Mississauga as well as in Waterloo, Niagara Falls and Jarvis, Ont.
