The Philippine Embassy in Moscow reported that a delegation led by the Department of Tourism’s (DOT’s) Dive Philippines Team and DOT Europe Office based in Frankfurt participated in the recently concluded Golden Dolphin International Festival held from February 13 to 16 at the Gostiny Dvor Exhibition Hall in Moscow.

The Golden Dolphin is an annual exhibition that focuses specifically on diving. This year, the show atttacted more than 300 exhibitors and 23,000 visitors. The Philippines also participated in last year’s event.

 

The DOT Team composed of DOT Europe, DOT Dive Philippines, and PR agency Access Russia.

Ms. Venus Marie Tan, OIC of DOT Europe Office, led the Philippine delegation composed of DOT officials and dive resort operators from the Philippines. A cocktail reception attended by Embassy officials and officers of various dive clubs all over Russia was held at the Philippine stand on February 14. According to Ms. Tan the DOT continues to focus on Russia as an important and increasing source of tourism arrivals, and diving as one of the biggest niche markets identified for the Philippine tourism industry.
