Andanar heads new appointees to DFA’s UNESCO National Commission
MANILA–Presidential Communications Secretary Jose Ruperto Martin M. Andanar has been appointed as concurrent member of the Department of Foreign Affairs’ (DFA’s) UNESCO National Commission representing the educational, scientific and cultural agencies of the government.
Andanar’s concurrent appointment, which carries a term of three years, was signed by President Rodrigo Duterte on March 14 as shown in official documents released by Malacañang Tuesday.
He leads ten other officials who were appointed in the same position.
These are: Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones, Higher Education (CHED) Secretary J. Prospero E. de Vera III, Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Fortunato Canseco dela Peña, DOST Undersecretary Renato Umali Solidum Jr., TESDA director general Guiling A. Mamondiong, DICT Undersecretary Denis F.
Villorente, , Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Undersecretary Florita Rubiano Villar, National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Undersecretary Rosemarie G. Edilon, Tourism (DOT) director Verna Esmeralda Covar Buensuceso and National Commission for Culture and the Arts chairperson Virgilio Senadren Almario.
Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea said all of them were designated/given the additional task of being members to the UNESCO national commission.
“As such, they will continue to perform their functions as required by their primary appointments,” Medialdea said.
