Cloudiness, some rains likely till Sunday
MANILA—Cloudy skies with light rains are expected over Cagayan Valley and Cordillera regions as well as Aurora province, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 24-hour forecast released Saturday afternoon.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains would be experienced over Metro Manila and rest of Luzon, PAGASA also said.
PAGASA likewise forecast partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over rest of the country.
The northeast monsoon or ‘amihan’ is affecting Luzon while the easterlies are affecting eastern sections of both the Visayas and Mindanao, noted PAGASA.
According to PAGASA, moderate to strong winds from the northeast will prevail over Luzon where coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
“Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas,” PAGASA said.
PAGASA said strong to gale-force winds associated with ‘amihan’ weakened already.
Expected weaker 36 kph to 58 kph winds could fan, in Northern Luzon’s northern and eastern seaboards, moderate to rough seas and waves up to 4.0 meters high, however, PAGASA said in its gale warning 6 released Saturday afternoon.
The seaboards cover Batanes, Calayan and Babuyan islands, northern coast of Ilocos Norte, Cagayan and Isabela, said PAGASA.
“Fishing boats and other small seacraft are alerted against moderate to rough seas,” PAGASA added.
