MANILA –The Philippine National Police (PNP) will conduct a “motu proprio” investigation of the policemen named and identified by retired Senior Police Officer 3 (SPO3) Arthur Lascanas.

Among the policemen mentioned by Lascanas are Senior Supt.

Vicente Danao, who is currently assigned at the Directorate for Intelligence (DI) in Camp Crame, Quezon City; SPO1 Renato Medina, who is currently assigned at the Davao City Police Office (DCPO); SPO2 Rizalino Aquino and SPO3 Bienvenido Furog, who both opted for optional retirement.

PNP Public Information Office (PIO) chief and spokesman Senior Supt. Dionardo Carlos on Wednesday said they will check on the records of the said policemen and whether where they are assigned.

Carlos said they will determine during the conduct of the investigation their connection and participation in the alleged Davao Death Squad (DDS).
