Trump’s appeal to world leaders

Published

on

Majority of the US may be in rage with Trump and his executive actions however, there are world leaders who feel that Trump is finally the American President that they can actually get on board with.

According to Thae Yong-ho, North Korea’s highest-ranking defector, Kim Jong-un declares intent to meet up with Trump and hints on the possibility to form ties so long as America will not ask North Korea to give up his nukes.

From Russia’s Vladimir Putin to our very own Rody Duterte, world leaders with nationalistic ideologies raise their thumps for Trump.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip had mixed opinions with Trump especially on the immigration ban targeted towards Muslims but is looking forward to meet with Trump.

“I believe we will reach a consensus with Mr. Trump, particularly on regional issues.” Edrogan said over a meeting with Turkish diplomats.

In Egypt, President Adbel Fattah el-Sisi appeared welcoming of the idea of Trump being in the White House.

In fact, Sisis agreed to delay a vote on the UN Security Council on Israeli after a phone call from Trump last December. However Sisi remains silent on Trump’s immigration policy.

Kazakhstan’s “president for life” Nursultan A. Nazarbayev mentioned that he also received a call from Trump commending him on the “miracle” he had done in Kazakhstan. Apparently Trump was not referring to Nazarbayev’s reelection.

Trump is also hailed by leaders from Europe where immigration had been the region’s growing problem and concern. Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban and French far right conservative Marine Le Pen applauding Trump’s immigration ban.

With this trend being observed in the current world stage, nationalism seems to be entering a new era with Trump leading the banner of going back to being nation-centered and ready to abandon international cooperation for the sake of self-preservation as a country.
