Iran ready for economic engagement with U.S.: FM
“We are interested in expanding our relations with the EU… and we are open to economic relations even with the U.S.,” Zarif said addressing the World Economic Forum underway in the Swiss city of Davos.
“While we have our political differences with the U.S., we are not closed to economic relations (with it).” He also mentioned the recent deal with the Boeing, saying that it indicates Iran’s will for engagement with the U.S. companies.
Iran sealed the deal with the Boeing in December to buy 80 planes within 10 years. The first deliveries are expected in 2018.
The Iranian nuclear deal in July 2015 ended the disputes over the country’s nuclear program. It put significant restrictions on the nuclear activities of the Islamic republic in return for the removal of nuclear-related international and the U.S.-led sanctions against it.
The deal was implemented in January 2016.
