Gov’t released P1.05 billion to DA for Yolanda’s relief

MANILA, Philippines – When super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) hit the country last year, one of the most affected sectors was the agriculture, with total damages reaching P31.1 billion, as of March 2014.
The amount includes production losses of P27.07 billion in crops, fisheries, and livestock, along with infrastructure damages amounting to P4.06 billion.
So, as an aid to these losses, the government has released a total of P1.05 billion to the Department of Agriculture (DA).
According to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), the DA will allocate this amount to the following :
