‘Ferdie’ affects 409 families in Batanes, Cagayan

MANILA—A total of 409 families or equivalent to 1,529 persons from Batanes and Cagayan were affected as Typhoon “Ferdie” battered Northern Luzon Wednesday.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council(NDRRMC) in its 8 p.m. update said this is broken down into 396 families in Batanes and 13 families in Cagayan.

The NDRRMC said affected families in Batanes are mostly in Uyugan town with 395 and one in Basco.

While in Cagayan, these are mostly concentrated in Claveria with 13.

The NDRRMC added that one house was totally destroyed and 20 homes were partially damaged in Uyugan, also in Batanes.
