Poe will not present BBL findings
MANILA — Sen. Grace Poe yesterday said that she will no longer present her committee’s findings on the Mamasapano incident.
On earlier reports, Poe’s committee found that President Aquino is “ultimately liable” for the incident which killed 44 members of the police Special Action Force (SAF).
“He is ultimately responsible for the outcome of the Mamasapano mission,” Poe said in a press conference last March.
Poe, however said that she will not present the report to the plenary.
“Report is about facts and findings. The ombudsman acknowledged receipt of our recommendations. I will no longer present in plenary. The BBL plenary discussion can tackle any remaining questions on Mamasapano,” Poe said.
The senator heads the Senate committee on peace and order and dangerous drugs, which lead the investigation on the Mamasapano incident.
Senate President Franklin Drilon also said that the report is already considered submitted before the plenary.
This is though the senator has not reported it officially before the congressional recess last week.
“It’s submitted and if Sen. Grace would want to calendar it during the break for adoption, she can.
But right now, it is already filed,” Drilon said.
