Free electric Love Bus returns: Here’s the Metro Manila route and schedule

MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila commuters have another free transport option as the iconic Love Bus rolls out a new electric shuttle service connecting key areas in Quezon City and Pasig.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority unveiled the service on September 9, with the Palace confirming that passengers can ride the buses for free from 6 AM to 9 PM.

Where does the Love Bus go?

The route starts at Robinsons Galleria in the Ortigas business district and serves several major destinations before making the return trip.

Stops and areas along the route include:

MMDA headquarters
Arcovia City
C-5
Bridgetowne Estate
Eastwood City
Robinsons Galleria

The service is designed to provide another transport option for commuters traveling between major business and commercial areas.

How much is the fare?

It is FREE.

According to Malacañang, commuters may currently use the service without paying a fare during its operating hours.

The buses are also fully electric and zero-emission, with each unit capable of carrying up to 36 passengers.

When can commuters ride?

The new Love Bus service operates from:

6 AM to 9 PM.

Commuters using the service should still allow extra travel time during peak periods, particularly around Ortigas, C-5, and Eastwood where traffic volume can be heavy.

The latest deployment is part of the government’s push to provide additional public transport options while introducing more electric vehicles into Metro Manila’s transport network.

Why is it called the Love Bus?

The Love Bus name dates back to the 1970s, when the original service was introduced during the administration of former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

The original Love Bus became known as the country’s first air-conditioned public bus service, offering commuters an alternative to conventional buses and jeepneys at the time.

The revived version keeps the familiar name but replaces the old buses with modern electric units aimed at providing free, lower-emission transport for today’s commuters.

For passengers traveling around Ortigas, C-5, and Eastwood, the important details are simple: the ride is free, the buses run from 6 AM to 9 PM and the service connects several major business districts.
