The Philippine peso fell to a new record low on Wednesday, moving closer to the P62-per-dollar level amid increased market volatility.
The local currency opened at P61.85 against the US dollar before weakening to an intraday low of P61.995 according to data from the Bankers Association of the Philippines.
The latest decline pushed the peso closer to breaching the P62-per-dollar mark.
