Alex Eala shares Instagram photos celebrating her historic Mubadala DC Open title before heading to compete in Toronto’s National Bank Open.

Filipina tennis star Alex Eala took to social media to share moments from her historic championship run, days after becoming the first player from the Philippines to win a WTA Tour-level singles title.

Eala posted a series of photos on Instagram showing highlights from her win at the 2026 Mubadala DC Open, including an image of her holding the tournament’s gold trophy.

Other photos captured an emotional moment following her championship match against Jessica Pegula of the United States, then the WTA’s world number three. Eala captioned the post “Me and my first.”

In a separate post, Eala shared additional photos posing with the trophy as champion of the tournament.

Eala won her first WTA Tour singles title on August 3, beating top seed Pegula 4-6, 6-4, 6-0 in the final of the Mubadala DC Open in Washington, D.C. The 21-year-old became the first tennis player from the Philippines to win a WTA Tour singles title.

The championship match was suspended by rain on a Sunday night with Pegula leading, before Eala completed the comeback the following day, winning the last nine games of the match.

On her Instagram story, Eala also posted a photo captioned as heading to Toronto, where she was set to compete next in the National Bank Open in Canada.

Eala went on to play at the National Bank Open in Toronto in front of a sold-out crowd of 10,000, fresh off her win in Washington.

She has since advanced through multiple rounds of the Toronto tournament, extending her winning run on the North American hard-court swing.
