PHILIPPINES – The southwest monsoon, also known as Habagat, will keep bringing rains across parts of Luzon on July 13, as reported by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Gloomy skies with isolated showers and thunderstorms are predicted over Metro Manila, the Ilocos and Cordillera regions, and the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, and Palawan.
The remainder of Luzon will encounter partly cloudy skies with scattered rains or thunderstorms, also produced by the southwest monsoon. However, Visayas and Mindanao are anticipated to have comparable weather conditions because of the localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA also cautioned that moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms could cause flash floods or landslides in affected locations. People are advised to stay alert, especially in prone communities, as conditions may alter throughout the day.
Nevertheless, the weather bureau has monitored a new low-pressure area about 1,400 km east of Eastern Visayas. But PAGASA stated the weather disturbance has only a little chance of getting into the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
Moderate to strong winds and seas will spread over Luzon. However, Visayas and Mindanao will endure light to moderate southeast to south winds, with moderate states over coastal waters.
