Inday enters PAR as Filipinos prepare for impact

PHILIPPINES – Super Typhoon Inday (internationally known as Bavi) entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility at around 3 a.m on July 8, 2026 (Wednesday). According to PAGASA at 5 a.m., It was last seen 1,405 km east of Northern Luzon.
Reports stated that Inday may maintain its status as a super typhoon until July 9, 2026 (Thursday) and may weaken by the afternoon. General flood advisories were also updated as of 6 a.m. for the following regions:
Region 4-B (MIMAROPA)-GFA#1
Region 6 (Western Visayas)-GFA#1
Region 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula) GFA#2
Region 10 (Northern Mindanao) GFA#2
Region 12 (SOCCSKSARGEN)-GFA#1
BARMM GFA#2
Meanwhile, preemptive evacuations have already been planned across the country to safeguard communities before the weather conditions become critical. Even though there is no forecasted landfall in the Philippines, are still preparing to minimize the impact of possible severe weather.
Inday is set to exit the PAR by the morning of July 11, 2026 (Saturday) and will make a landfall in China by July 12, 2026.
