MANILA – An OCTA Research survey conducted from April 20 to 24, 2026 found that 74 percent of adult Filipinos support proceeding with the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte, up from 69 percent in March.

The previous survey was done from March 19 to 25, and also asked 1,200 respondents the question: ”Do you think Vice President Sara Duterte should face trial in the Senate or an impeachment court to address the allegations against her or not?”

On Monday, the OCTA Research said only 21 percent of respondents in the recent survey answered “no” while 4 percent answered, “don’t know”.

“This survey has a margin of error of ±3 % at a 95% confidence level,” it said in a report.

It said the findings “reflect public support for allowing the constitutional impeachment process to proceed, and should not be read as a judgment on guilt, conviction, or removal from office.”

“The survey question measures public support for a Senate impeachment trial as a constitutional mechanism for addressing allegations and ensuring due process,” it said.

Meanwhile, the highest percentage of support for an impeachment trial was recorded in the Visayas at 82 percent, followed by the National Capital Region, 81 percent; Balance Luzon, 77 percent; and Mindanao at 58 percent.

Opposition to the impeachment trial was strongest in Mindanao at 41 percent.

Among socioeconomic classes, support for the impeachment trial was 74 percent among Class ABC, 75 percent among Class D, and 73 percent among Class E respondents.

Subnational estimates for the geographic areas have the following margins of error at a 95 percent confidence level: ±6 percent for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, the OCTA said.
