Purisima refuses to show call and text logs to Aquino

MANILA — Resigned-Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Alan Purisima will not allow the public to see the call and text logs between him and President Aquino over the failed Mamasapano operation.

Purisima insisted during the House of Representatives probe on the incident that other confidential messages which might be leaked will also be revealed if he presents the call and text logs publicly.

“The security the data that can be collected will go to other purposes.

That’s why we are not agreeing to that, your Honor,” Purisima said.

“There are other contents that should not be (included)… In forensic study, they can make a copy and make fun of it later,” Purisima then said.

He added that the earliest text message he sent to the President was about 5:45 a.m when he informed him that the international terrorist Zulkilfi bin Hir, alias Marwan was killed by the SAF team.
