Ai Ai admits she had Bell’s palsy
MANILA – Ai Ai delas Alas had to miss out a couple of weeks shooting for her upcoming movie “Past Tense” because she was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy.
Bell’s palsy is a type of facial paralysis that exhibits difficulty in controlling facial muscles.
“I had Bell’s palsy for two weeks.
During those times, I was not able to attend our shoot,” said delas Alas during the press conference of the movie on Tuesday.
Usually, people with Bell’s palsy heals, without treatment, in one to two months. Luckily for delas Alas, she was able to recover faster.
“I was lucky enough that mine only took two weeks.
Maybe this is God’s way of telling me to slow down and rest for the meantime,” said delas Alas.
Asked about how she got it, she said that she has no idea.
“I’m not sure, maybe it’s because of stress, or maybe the sudden changes in the weather,” she shared.
“Past Tense” also stars Kim Chiu and Xian Lim and will be shown nationwide on November 26.
