As part of the TED2014 conference in Vancouver March 17-21, TED, the nonprofit devoted to “Ideas Worth Spreading,” announces today it will offer a free, live webstream of the entire conference to accredited Vancouver-area secondary schools, universities, libraries, community centres and NGOs.

The webstream will be open to accredited secondary schools, universities, libraries, community centres and NGOs in the following communities:

Burnaby, Coquitlam, Delta, Langley, New Westminster, North Vancouver, Richmond, Squamish, Surrey, Vancouver, Victoria, West Vancouver, Whistler.

It will last from Monday, March 17 at 10:30 am PT through Friday, March 21 at 1 pm PT (see program schedule here). The webstream is a live event meant to be broadcast to a large screen or projector where people can watch together. All applicants are subject to approval.

Secondary schools, universities, libraries, community centres and NGOs may apply for the free webstream by clicking here.

Watch together live and discuss with one another during the breaks. [One can even] pause and watch sessions on-demand throughout the week depending on class schedules and group get-togethers.

“The education community is integral to everything we do at TED,” said TED Community Director Tom Rielly. “What better way to celebrate educators and NGOs from our new home in Vancouver, a city that has welcomed us with incredible warmth and enthusiasm, than to open up our conference to their constituents?”
