Vaccine will help Pinoys go back to normal, says NTF exec
MANILA – National Task Force Against Covid-19 (NTF) deputy implementer Vivencio Dizon has underscored the importance of getting vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019, saying the vaccine will help Filipinos to go back to normal ways of living.
The Coordinated Operations to Defeat Epidemic (CODE) team led by NTF visited Taguig City Wednesday to discuss Covid-19 immunization program and strengthen the coordination among the national government, local government units (LGUs), and the private sector as the country prepares to vaccinate at least half of the population this year.
Dizon said he hopes the Covid-19 vaccination program will be rolled out in Taguig City quickly.
He cited the developments seen in Israel wherein the number of Covid-19 cases lowered since the inoculation against Covid-19 started, as well as there are fewer individuals that need to be hospitalized due to the infectious disease.
Dizon said this trend can be replicated in Taguig City and the whole country through the Covid-19 vaccine.
“If at least 50 percent of the population gets vaccinated, we can really open our economy, our countrymen can return to their jobs, (and) our students will gradually be able to go to their schools,” he said.
He added the vaccination program, the last phase of the government’s plan to fight Covid-19, is crucial.
Dizon urged LGUs to focus their resources to ensure at least half of the population in their respective areas will be vaccinated against Covid-19.
