Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, during the Beat Covid-19 virtual presser, said most of the confirmed cases are from Luzon.
In fact, more than half or more or less about 80 percent of the Covid-19 cases were recorded in Metro Manila. It is here where the virus first entered the Philippines due to the number or volume of flights going to) Metro Manila,” he said.
According to the DOH, outside Luzon, Davao has the second most number or cases with 79, followed by Central Visayas with 39 cases.
“Mas kaunti po ang kasong naitala sa Visayas at Mindanao dahil dulot na lamang po ito ng local transmission mula sa ka-Maynilaan (Fewer cases were recorded in Visayas and Mindanao because these were just caused by local transmissions from Metro Manila),” Duque said.
Duque also reported that among the confirmed positive cases for Covid-19, 274 are mild while 39 are severe and 23 are critical.
We’d like to clarify that these are few compared to the more than 3,764 cases recorded as we’re still waiting for updates from hospitals about their patients’conditions),” he said.
